TKTX Before and After — What to Expect

Wondering what happens when you apply TKTX numbing cream? Here's a complete before-and-after timeline so you know exactly what to expect — from the moment you open the tube to hours after your procedure.

Before Application

• Skin condition: Clean, dry, intact skin. No cuts, sunburns, or irritation.
• Sensation: Normal feeling — full sensitivity to touch, temperature, and pressure.
• Appearance: Natural skin colour and texture.

0–10 Minutes After Application

You may feel a mild cooling or tingling sensation as the active ingredients begin absorbing into the skin. The cream sits as a thick white layer under the cling film. This is completely normal.

10–20 Minutes

The tingling intensifies slightly, then transitions to numbness. You'll start to notice reduced sensation when you press on the covered area through the cling film. The skin under the cream may begin to look slightly paler — this is the epinephrine constricting blood vessels.

20–40 Minutes (Peak Onset)

Full numbing effect. When you remove the cream and wipe clean, the skin will feel "thick" and insensitive to light touch. The area may appear white or pale — this is temporary and completely normal. This is the ideal window to begin your tattoo, waxing, or filler procedure.

During the Procedure (40 min – 3+ hours)

After the Numbing Wears Off

Sensation returns gradually over 30–60 minutes. The skin returns to its normal colour. You may experience:

• Mild redness (from the procedure, not the cream)
• Normal post-procedure sensitivity
• No long-term effects from the numbing cream itself
